Meghal stole (also known as long scarf) is made using natural dyes extracted from Tamarix flower, alum and scrap iron on Gajji silk. The silk provides a soft sheen on the stole and grey/ black combination renders it elegantly. The tassels alternate in beige and black, and have been handmade and attached using hand finishing techniques in the village of Bhujodi, in Gujarat.
The chevron enclosed diamond patterns take their inspiration from animal skin patterns which nomadic tribes adorn themselves with for protection. The detailed lines and dots patterns along the edge boast of early cave paintings telling tales of discovery and wonder.
